Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a proactive and ambitious Principal Consultant to provide fire risk management services to a range of clients in London, Midlands, North and the South East. The successful candidate will have detailed and practical experience on the delivery of fire risk management services across a range of commercial, public and infrastructure clients.

We will consider candidates for London, Midlands, Yorkshire and Newcastle areas

They will be responsible for managing their own day to day activities and workload with deliverables and timescales agreed by their line manager. Where appropriate they will also act as Commission Manager for teams of consultants.

On a day to day basis the successful candidate will have an excellent understanding on a range of services which would include: Providing our wide range of clients with fire consultancy services and associated reporting, presentations and management information; o Delivery of fire risk assessments and preparation of fire evacuation plans across a variety of sectors including commercial, residential (housing), retail, education and government facilities:

  • Delivery of fire consultancy, fire strategies and design reviews for new construction projects and refurbishments;
  • Delivery of fire management audits of client properties by reviewing evidence which demonstrates compliance; 
  • Assisting in the development of further Fire related opportunities through technical articles, speaking opportunities and bid support; and  Possible support to other offices in the UK or Ireland on an occasional basis. Occasional international projects may arise.

Qualifications

  • Candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in practical fire risk management services. 
  • They will ideally be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant H&S / design / engineering / property related discipline, with a minimum of the CFPA European Diploma in Fire Prevention (or equivalent). 
  • They will be registered with a relevant UKAS accredited organisation or professional body (such as the Institution of Fire Engineers). 
  • Experience of business development and line management is a distinct advantage.
