Position Information

Cambridge Gardens Public School has an enrolment of 480 students including 14% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students and 20% EAL/D students. Our school is currently part of the Early Action for Success initiative and the Bump It Up strategy resulting in a strong focus on literacy and numeracy leading to excellence in student achievement. We are a fun and innovative school in culture, teaching practice and extracurricular activities. Our school prides itself on its connections with its local community and enjoys the benefits of a very active P&C. The school continues to embed into its school culture Positive Behaviour for Learning and Positive Education practices and processes.

Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with demonstrated capacity working with students with learning and support needs

Demonstrated ability and commitment for the values, vision and goals of Cambridge Gardens Public School.

Proven ability as an enthusiastic, easy to approach, visible leader working as part of the leadership team to develop, and implement the School Plan.

Demonstrated commitment to wellbeing, including the social and emotional needs of students that will enhance the engagement of all through a positive, inclusive school culture.

Demonstrated ability to build the capacity of staff to plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based data-driven literacy and numeracy programs.

General Selection Criteria

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies


An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the
