The Role Responsibilities

Business

The scope of the role covers portfolio management, strategy and business management for the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Industries global segment. The business management role entails managing all aspects of the business to drive business performance. It involves a combination of day-to-day, project, and ad-hoc work that is either strategic or tactical in nature. The portfolio management role will involve providing oversight of the quality of the portfolio to Risk and Business and managing the portfolio within the relevant risk limits. It also involves execution of the distribution strategy.

Specific areas of responsibility include:

  • Business performance

    – preparation and presentation of performance, pipeline, portfolio and client analysis, and the identification of business opportunities.

  • Credit Risk

    – preparation and presentation of portfolio management packs that monitor client portfolio, risk exposures and client strategy; stress testing as required.

  • Distribution

    – work with Credit & Portfolio Management to execute on distribution strategy including collaborating on innovative distribution structures and channels.

  • Compliance

    – Management of risks and controls for the CRE and Industries team.

  • Strategy

    – working with the CRE and Industries team to develop its growth strategy as well as driving implementation of the strategy.

  • Cost

    – Ensuring the business manages cost within budget. This also includes managing the vendor relationships with market data service providers.

  • Systems

    – drive system changes to automate reporting needs.

  • Talent

    – work with the business on deployment of IGs, interns and temps

  • Operations

    – manage operations to facilitate the day to day functioning of the business, including floor stacking, shared drive maintenance, etc.

Regulatory & Business conduct

  • Operational Risk Framework

    work with Risk, Compliance, Assurance, and Internal Audit as appropriate to ensure operational risk management and assurance processes are adhered to within the Business.

Key Relationships

  • Commercial Real Estate and Industries teams.

  • Regional and Global Support functions (Finance, Credit/Risk, Compliance, HR, etc.).

  • Global Banking COO office

  • Regional and Country Global Banking teams.

  • Regional and Global Product (CF, TB and FM) teams.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Degree qualified with 1-4 years of relevant experience

  • Self-confident person with a high level of drive, dedication, pride, and exceptional attention to detail.

  • Excellent analytical and Finance skills, with advanced Excel skills and proven ability to interpret, analyse and present financial information and performance metrics.

  • Detailed working knowledge and understanding (including business drivers) of product-level P&L, balance sheet, risk-weighted assets and risk exposure.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with proven ability to distil information into incisive reports and presentations.

  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple deliverables in a timely and effective manner
