Job Summary

The Program and Project Management (PM/CM) business line specializes in the management of design and construction of community infrastructure facilities for education, healthcare, national governments, sports and leisure, justice, cultural venues, and commercial needs. From concept through completion, we provide necessary technical and administrative services to help our clients meet their program objectives. Our professionals serve as an extension of our clients' staff, protecting their interests as our own, and often working within our clients' offices. As an industry leader in PM/CM, we oversee activities ranging from planning, coordination, scheduling and cost control, to design, construction and commissioning.

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Program Manager in Ontario, CA.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage and directs all aspects of complex programs and projects

  • Provide objective analysis and sound judgement

  • Evaluate and report project performance from inception to completion

  • Competencies include setup of work breakdown structure, establishing levels of control and detail, planning and scheduling, cost analysis and forecasting, progress measurement, earned value performance, risk analysis and change control

  • Responsible for managing, controlling, forecasting, and reporting cost and schedule performance for projects throughout the program.

  • Capturing to-date progress and expenditure data, analyzing to-date performance data, forecasting at-completion performance data (EAC costs, hours), analyzing project risks (contingency management), managing change and incorporating scope variations into schedule and cost deliverables, and preparing associated reports

  • Responsible for managing a program to achieve specified objectives. Involves the overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from inception to completion to produce a functionally and financially viable program that will be completed on time within authorized cost and to the required quality

  • Manages scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management

  • Acts as primary point of contact for client

  • Supervisory duties for managing onsite staff and resources

  • Develops proposals and responds to opportunities for expanded services

  • Manages program related procurement, contracts, and amendments

  • Develops, facilitates, and conducts program presentations for various audiences


This position does not provide relocation assistance

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, architecture, or construction management discipline

  • Eight (8) years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with design-build procurement, contract management and project execution

  • Knowledge in California Public Works and Public Contract Code

  • Highly motivated and takes initiative

  • Experience with California K-12, Community College, and DSA construction

  • DBIA, CCM, PMP, PE and/or AIA registration/certification

  • Progressive experience in construction design and development, including (3) years as Program Manager in direct management of project managers, project delivery, project controls, and reporting

  • Possess highly developed interpersonal, analytical, and communication (written and verbal) skills

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage in a diverse and dynamic environment with short-notice tasking under high pressure situations
