Job Description Summary

The GW Campus COVID-19 Investigation Team (CCIT) is comprised of public health faculty and staff at the GW Milken Institute School of Public Health. The CCIT is responsible for GW's COVID-19 surveillance activities, case investigation, contact tracing, and coordinating with the D.C. Department of Health (DC Health).

The Program Managers will work under the supervision of the Project Director with the support of the Milken Institute School of Public Health Technical Advisory Group. The Program Managers will co-manage campus investigation and contact tracing activities to ensure that GW responds to the COVID-19 health emergency seven days a week, including evenings and weekends. Each Program Manager will be responsible for approximately 10 Campus COVID Interview Assistants. The Program Managers will set the team schedules; escalate issues from their assigned teams to the Technical Advisory Group; communicate any process changes to the Campus COVID Interview Assistants and coordinate communication between the GW laboratory, DC Health, GW Occupational Health, and GW Colonial Health Center under the supervision of the Project Director. The Program Managers will also be expected to perform many of the daily functions of the Campus COVID Interview Assistant role, albeit at a reduced volume.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Project Director in oversight for day-to-day CCIT activities.
  • Facilitate effective communications between DC Health, GW Occupational Health and GW Student Health.
  • Ensure effective performance monitoring and staff support for the campus contract tracing team.
  • Guide the development and implementation of effective staff training activities.
  • Work closely with DC Health to ensure consistency in communications, practices, and decision-making.
  • Oversee required reporting to DC Health
  • Ensure team adherence to all requirements regarding protection of confidential information and other policies and procedures internal to GW.
  • Assist with surveillance activities including lab and data management and analysis.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. This is a limited term position for up to 1 year.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 6 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 4 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in public health, public administration or related health science or administration field.
  • Prior experience in the public health field.
  • Prior direct supervisory experience and demonstrated work experience directing and supporting a project team.
Typical Hiring Range
