The position

HBCF, as part of icare, delivers essential insurance coverage to homeowners in the event a contractor is unable to honour their commitments due to insolvency, death, disappearance or building licence suspension. GB’s Business Model enables us to support this safety net, deploying a claims management model that provides the best customer experience to homeowners and protects the HBCF’s objectives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with Home Builders Warranty claims end to end with adherence to HBCF service standards, company guidelines,

    delegated authority and SLA’s

  • Providing best practice customer service to deliver superior outcomes for both homeowners and HBCF

  • Work with the team by sharing information, knowledge and resources to achieve best possible outcomes for all Settling claims within client service instructions, company guidelines and delegated authority

  • Building and developing external business relationships

  • Attending client meetings where applicable

  • Achieve monthly productivity level as designated by management

  • Comply with relevant legislation such as The General Insurance Code of Practice, and other relevant legislation / regulations and policy requirements

  • Resolve complaints in accordance with company guidelines

  • Identify potential fraud/recovery indicators for claims where applicable

About you, what we are looking for:

  • Minimum three (3) years claims experience (preferably in Householders, Property, Commercial and/or Builders Warranty claims) and/or

  • Ability to interpret policy wordings and apply accurately

  • Ability to build and develop business relationships with client/s

  • Comply with relevant state legislation

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong level of interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to quality and accuracy

  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team

  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word/ Excel)

  • Experience using Guidewire Claim Centre Industry Qualification - ANZIIF desirable although not essential
