Clinical Simulation Specialist
BC Children's Hospital and BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre, $30.09 per hour
What you'll do
Provide technical support for simulation mannequins, computer based multimedia and debriefing systems and their components, including operation of digital cameras, video cameras, audio/video mixer, digital/analog converter, monitors, LCD projectors, and other equipment.
Liaise with equipment manufacturers regarding equipment trouble shooting and escalating issues to the Simulation Technology and Operations Coordinator, vendor or IMITS as appropriate.
Under direction of the Simulation Program staff and users, operate simulation and AV equipment to follow medical aspects of scenarios and make the requested adjustments based on participant actions.
Arrange or perform clean-up/dismantling of educational sessions and maintenance of props and equipment as appropriate.
Contribute to the development of effective use of AV and simulation equipment by identifying needs and creating user instructions.
Perform routine preventative maintenance, support and troubleshooting on all AV systems, media production and classroom equipment.
Maintain warranty information and documentation on simulation equipment.
Collect, input, maintain, and collate data regarding simulation clients, room booking, simulation activities and services, equipment purchases, maintenance, and repair history into databases.
What you bring
Diploma or degree in a recognized technology or health-related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Minimum two (2) year's recent, related experience with simulation technology and clinical education.
CHSOS certification (Certified Simulation Operations Specialist) preferred.
You will have the ability to:
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Deal with others effectively
Physically carry out the duties of the position
Organize work and operate related equipment
