Job Description

The Role:
Our Client is seeking an experienced Staff Specialist Anaesthetist who will participate in the consultant on call roster, assist with the education role of the department, provide clinical care to patients, undertake the management of the nominated service and comply with child protection and domestic violence policies and attend mandatory training. As a member of the senior medical team, the incumbent will participate in and lead appropriate clinical governance activities and service planning and development as required within the medical services unit and across the whole nominated service.

This is a Base Hospital with 117 beds C1 grouped hospital providing a range of acute Specialists services with 2 well-equipped operating theatres. There is general surgical, general medical, paediatric and obstetric emphasis. The hospital is also serviced with a 24hr Emergency Department, ICU/CCU and an extensive Outpatient Clinic. Each year there are approximately 19,500 emergency presentations, 2,500 operations and 540 births.

Skills & Qualifications Required:
You will have fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or equivalent and be registered as a specialist in Anaesthesia with the Medical Board of Australia. Displaying a high level of clinical experience within anaesthesia and a high level of flexibility and integrity you will be an integral part of the senior medical team.

You must demonstrate:
1. Highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills
2. Extensive experience in Anaesthetics
3. Experience and commitment to clinical teaching
4. Experience and commitment to quality improvement
