Controller Director of Finance

Job Description

Eskenazi Health is seeking a Controller Director of Finance, for all
Eskenazi Health Centers. The Controller will oversee and direct the accounting
and financial reporting including timely and accurate preparation of monthly
financial statements and proper application of health care industry financial
practices. This role is responsible for the development and guidance of the
teams and team members under their leadership as well as completeness and
accuracy of financial statements and the reasonableness of pertinent
reserves. We are looking for a skilled, finance professional, to influence
Eskenazi Health s ongoing financial operations, success and growth.

In addition the Controller will:
* Plan, organize and direct the accounting responsibilities including
direct oversight of the Accounting, Payroll and Accounts Payable
Departments and establish goals and objectives for the teams under their
responsibility
* Oversee and direct the financial reporting function including timely and
accurate preparation of monthly financial statements and proper
application of health care industry financial practices
* Review financial statements as part of the month-end close process to
ensure completeness and accuracy of results and reasonableness of
reserves
* Safeguard assets and assures accurate and timely recording of all
transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audit, controls and
checks across departments
* Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statement packages,
including financial review narratives. Assist the CFO in presenting the
monthly financial information to Hospital Leadership, including the CEO,
COO, Medical Staff, and the Hospital Committee of the Board of Trustees
* Respond to ad hoc requests for information from the CFO and other
Leadership
* Develop strong relationships with Senior Leadership, Physicians and
Department Leaders
* Provide technical guidance through open and appropriate communication in
order to be recognized and sought out as a business consultant
* Continually evaluate processes for operational improvement and greater
efficiency
* Ensure compliance with GAAP and coordinates annual audit with outside CPA
firm

The qualified candidate will have a baccalaureate degree in accounting or
finance and a minimum of five years progressive management experience, with
emphasis on financial performance. Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
designation required.
