VCA East Mill Plain Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. This position is full time, wage is negotiable dependent on experience.

We are a 7 Doctor, AAHA-accredited practice in Vancouver, Washington. We are a busy hospital with state of the art equipment and a shared passion for high quality medicine. Our employees are Fear Free certified and we are searching for a candidate with the same standards and drive to do better for our patients and their people.

Technician Supervisor duties include:
Scheduling for multiple employees
Assisting to find coverage for sick time and vacations
Training of new Technicians and provide training support for other positions in the hospital
Conducting interviews
Provide input and conduct employee evaluations
Help to keep a smooth work flow day to day
Help to set priorities and standards
Provide support and mediation between employees
Help resolve team conflicts
Represent oneself in a confident and professional manner under stress and/or when focused on individual tasks
Collaborate with the hospital manager to develop hospital protocols and procedures
Attend DVM meetings and keep fellow Technicians up to date

Technical skills must include but are not limited to:
Radiography (including dental)
Catheter placement
Nursing care
Documentation and client education
Laboratory knowledge
Restraint skills
Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to multitask and triage duties
Work collectively in teams and alone
Phone etiquette
