$1,100-1,300 per week depending on experience and qualifications, plus benefits

What you’ll be doing
  • Building digital campaigns
    Support digital initiatives that help young people get ready to vote by creating landing pages, writing copy, gathering assets, and collaborating on strategy
  • Developing our CRM tool
    With the leadership of the Director of Digital Strategy, support day-to-day use of HeadCount’s CRM by optimizing data organization, targeting communications, setting up automations, and creating accessible dashboards for other staff
  • Creating and sending e-mails
    Communicate with our audience through all stages of their experience with HeadCount by drafting e-mail copy, designing templates, targeting audiences, and analyzing performance
  • Supporting cross-channel communications
    Collaborate with our Social Media & Marketing Manager by creating content for social channels, SMS, digital advertising, and supporting artists and partners in their communications
  • Managing content creation and basic design of our website
    Edit content, build new landing pages with a drag-and-drop editor, identify bugs (and solve them when you can), and continue to develop our website into an effective tool to inspire new audiences to get out and vote 
  • Identifying new digital tools
    From chatbots to project management systems, find new tools that can help HeadCount level up our digital efforts
  • Generating ad creative and copy
    Support our digital ad strategy by designing creative for channels like Google and Facebook, setting up ads, and monitoring their success
  • Analyzing digital performance data
    Evaluate digital data to understand campaign success, and identify opportunities for growth and change in the organization
Here’s how you can be excellent at this job
  • Operate with a digital-first mindset
    You’re a natural at learning new tools and getting the most out of them quickly. You’ve worked with CRMs like HubSpot, and digital organizing tools like Phone2Action. You get the basics of HTML and CSS, even if you’re not a master. You’ve got a finger on the pulse of new industry trends and technologies. 
  • Measure, measure, measure
    You measure everything you do and define success with measurable results. You are able to define meaningful metrics for the organization and you hold yourself and your team accountable to hitting those goals. You are skilled with Google Analytics, a whiz at spreadsheets, and other marketing automation tools. 
  • Flex your design chops
    You won’t always be creating visual content from scratch (our wonderful Art Director Jamie is here to help you!) but you should have an eye for clean and compelling design. You are comfortable working in tools like Canva and can whip something up with a quick turnaround.
  • Write superbly
    You prove that you can adapt your writing to the HeadCount’s existing voice. You make voting more accessible to young people by breaking down complicated issues into non-jargony, simple language. 
  • Put the voter first
    You listen to our audience and reflect what they value and need back to them. You are a cheerleader for young voters in everything you do.
  • Be organized and communicate
    You meet deadlines, stick to plans, and love checklists. When you can’t complete something by the requested time, you proactively communicate that to stakeholders.

  • Have previously worked on political campaigns, grassroots organizing, or non-profits
