Mazars is seeking a high-performing Director of Risk Servicesto join ourGovernance Risk and Compliance (GRC)practice in ourNew Yorkarea office. As a Director in this practice you will be responsible for providing expertise in Financial Services risks related areas, build a team that supports internal audit consulting activities for the Financial Services sector, and lead other consulting professionals that support valued clients.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, execute and lead client assignments that include risk and compliance related activities in the Financial Services sector including:

Risk advisory services (financial, operational and enterprise risk management)

Regulatory compliance (CECL, BSA-AML, SR 11-7, EPS, CCAR, DFAST etc.)

Internal Audit support for specific risk management areas (Strategic planning, Governance, Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, Model Risk, Liquidity and Interest Rate Risk)

Banking and Capital Markets audits

  • Continue to develop knowledge on both broad risk management practice and specific technical risk areas
  • Service as a trusted adviser and understand clients unique service needs
  • Manage and mentor other consulting professionals in the GRC practice
  • Lead new business development efforts with strategic business development definition, client portfolio management and solutions development
  • Expand your relationships with C level management at targeted clients
  • Be a thought leader who consistently increases their brand awareness
  • Assist with the firm's retention initiatives and recruiting efforts that impact the GRC practice

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree Accounting or a Business-related field of study
  • Master's degree in Math, Finance, Economics or Engineering is preferred
  • 10 -15 years of relevant work experience in consulting or a corporate risk background (financial, operational and enterprise risk management)
  • CPA or risk-related certifications preferred
  • Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship required
  • Expertise in Financial Risk including:

Demonstrated success in judgement of financial markets, familiarity with emerging financial products and services, and industry specific challenges

A good understanding of US regulatory environment including BSA/AML/OFAC requirements

Ability to coordinate activity across all lines (sector, geography, functions)

  • Experience in leading multiple projects and groups while effectively supporting teamwork and achievement of team objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior executives
  • Excellent communication skills (written/oral) and the ability to prepare C-level presentations
  • Experience interacting with supervisory bodies (regulators and auditors) is a plus
