Director, Marketing and Sales

Job Description

Telemus is seeking a Director, Sales and Marketing to work as a key member of
the organization at the SMT level with responsibility for all aspects of sales
and marketing for Telemus Electronic Warfare Systems business.
JOB LOCATION: Ottawa, Canada
Reporting to the General Manager in Ottawa, Canada, the Director Sales &
Marketing will be responsible for leading all activities related to the capture
of orders and new business, cultivating excellent relationships with clients
and industrial partners, and building a successful sales and marketing team. He
or she will develop and execute a sales and marketing strategy that maximizes
the business potential of our current product line in our international market
and accelerates our diversification and growth in USA and adjacent markets.
What are the responsibilities?
* Own and drive processes for winning business including prospecting,
opportunity qualification, and proposal/bid preparation to meet
Company order intake, sales and profit objectives
* Ensure key customer relationships are effectively managed to achieve
business objectives
* Develop and implement a marketing communications plan
* Provide strategic, customer-focused input to the Engineering/R&D team,
ensuring technology, product roadmap and pricing meets the market
(customer) requirements
* Identify and cement relationships with external (primes, technology
vendors, agents, distributors) partners to create winning team
* Gather, collate and translate market and customer intelligence into game
plans that identify opportunities and define robust strategies to
position Telemus EW technology and products for success
* Identify acquisition targets to fuel growth, diversification and enhance
our portfolio of solutions
* Major contributor to Telemus Strategic Plan
* Major contributor to the monthly Sales Funnel review, and monthly
Business Performance Review
* Marketing and Sales support to other business functions at Telemus as
required including Program Management, Engineering, and Finance
* Major contributor to the sales and marketing departmental budget
including annual trade shows/symposiums plan with a view to meeting
business objectives and providing value for money
* Manage a Sales & Marketing team covering the US, 5-Eyes, NATO, MENA,
Europe and APAC.
What are we looking for?
The successful candidate is likely to have a minimum of 10 years of progressive
leadership experience in sales, marketing, product management, operations and
technical leadership roles. He or she possesses a university degree in
Engineering (distinct advantage), Business or Marketing; an MBA is an advantage
but not a mandatory requirement. The successful candidate will also have:

* A proven track record of managing successful marketing campaigns for
complex systems to government or large prime contractors
* The ability to understand, communicate and market technology and product
offerings with domain knowledge in EW systems for defence markets
* A demonstrated ability to establish and develop effective relationships

* The flexibility to work outside of normal business hours and travel
frequently at short notice including to overseas locations
