The minimum salary for GS-11 is $64,545.00 with a maximum salary of 83,906.00. The minimum salary for GS-12 is $77,362.00 with a maximum salary of $100,576.00.
The incumbent is an Executive Assistant to the director of a major organization.
The purpose of this position is to provide advanced level financial management advice and assistance in the conduct of financial reviews, analysis, and examination of financial data, records, and reports.
Perform directorate wide analysis and reviews directorate work methods and operations with a view toward improvements.
Read and interpret regulatory financial controls and insures compliance; provide assistance and instructions on problems and unprecedented situations.
Independently conducts directorate wide financial reviews of broad scope and participates as a team member on highly complex reviews involving other organizations or sites.
Selections at entry level duties will be developmental in nature.
Conditions of Employment
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-11, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-9 or higher in the Federal service. To be considered for the GS-12, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher in the Federal service. One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: assisting in the performance of data analysis and evaluation of financial systems, policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the continuity of a financial organization's business operations; providing financial management knowledge to leadership in order to assist with the organization's core GS-12
Specialized experience is defined as: performing extensive data analysis and evaluation of financial systems, policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the continuity of a financial organization's business operations; compiling financial data from various sources and ensuring their accuracy as it pertains to financial legislation and operational policies and procedures; providing substantial financial management knowledge to leadership in order to assist with the organization's core mission

GS-11 Substitution of Education for Experience: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed higher-level graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Failure to become certified within the required time-frame may be grounds for removal from the position and/or from Federal service.
