Job-Specific Responsibilities
This position is responsible for supporting research activities as a fish room technician. This individual will be responsible for husbandry, life support system maintenance, equipment maintenance, ensuring the tanks are cleaned and supporting the graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The tech will also ensure that all protocol and regulatory compliance is followed. They will also maintain all records for disease recognition and prevention, and will provide biosecurity support.

Basic Qualifications
Six months of experience with animal care. Education may count toward experience.

Additional Qualifications
College background or degree in biological sciences preferred. Prior experience working with aquatic species preferred. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must feel comfortable working with aquatic species and their life support systems.

Additional Information
This is a one-year term position from date of hire, contingent upon funding availability and work performance.

Offer contingent upon successful completion of a pre-placement medical evaluation.
