Picton High School (1100, 8% ATSI,) is a comprehensive, co–educational high school where all students can achieve their personal best through quality teaching and learning.
Picton High School is currently operating outside of its traditional buildings as a new school is being constructed adjacent to the temporary site. The school is excitedly looking forward to moving into its new site in 2021. This year, all staff are preparing their curriculum and pedagogy as we shift towards an increase in future focused practices, in line with our new surroundings.
Picton offers a diverse range of curriculum and wellbeing innovations to cater for a range of learners and develops personalised learning plans to ensure academic and personal growth towards appropriate post-school pathways.

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Proven leadership in developing the capacity of TAS staff including all areas of Home Economics and VET hospitality subjects.
Demonstrated capacity to work as a collaborative member of our leadership team to achieve and deliver whole school strategic directions by nurturing positive and productive relationships across the school community.
Demonstrated capacity to lead the faculty in syllabus implementation through the development of innovative teaching and learning programs and quality assessments that meet the differentiated needs of a range of learners.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to create and build a dynamic faculty that increases the profile of Home Economics within the school and the broader community.
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
