What you'll do:

The Health Service Research Study (HSRS) Coordinator works in a complex research environment assuming responsibility for completing and directing technically sound work within parameters established in collaboration with the study team. The HSRS Coordinator follows established PHSA, BCC and department policy and guidelines to complete administrative duties in support of Health Service Research studies. The HSRS Coordinator is responsible for administrative coordination of a number of research projects.

Assist with identifying, designing and developing research strategies and methodologies.
Gather, review, and synthesize literature relevant to projects and program of research.
Develop tools to collect data, and store and manage the datasets required for analysis.
Manage the collection of survey data including subject identification and recruitment.
Coordinate the information collection phase of the study by performing and/or overseeing duties such as converting information from one coding system to another, coding and abstracting information, quantitatively analyzing information and/or designing and creating custom coding systems.
Ensure confidentiality of data by performing duties such as securing data and backing up data according to established procedures.
Monitor accuracy and completeness of information collected.
Correct and update any deficiencies through a variety of methods including contacting physicians.
Have understanding and experience with quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies and analyses.
Conduct interviews and/or focus groups with stakeholders (e.g., patients, clinicians, and decision-makers).
Analyze data and interpret observations and findings.
Design and develop formats for data assembly, analysis, and presentation.
Develop and implement a strategy for dissemination of results.
Compose results and prepare manuscripts for stakeholders and publication.
Assist in drafting articles for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
Prepare abstracts for submission to academic conferences.
Project Management:
Determine and prioritize project management timelines and work plans including a schedule of tasks and projects in collaboration with the investigative team
Provide administrative support to research projects by completing duties such as monitoring project milestones and other administrative duties under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and Program Manager.
Schedule team meetings and prepare agendas and minutes for distribution.

What you bring:
A Bachelors degree in social sciences, statistics, management or a relevant health care discipline.
A minimum of three (3) years experience with health research projects.
A high level of numeracy with well-developed quantitative and analytical skills.
Experience with qualitative methodology, including analysis.
Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Able to organize and prioritize work, multi-task appropriately and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Detail oriented and able to complete accurate work.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to utilize related equipment and a variety of software packages including word processing, spreadsheets, statistics, databases and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of health services / policy research and health care systems in Canada.
Knowledge of social network analysis would be desirable.
