IT Infrastructure Manager

This is a Shared Service position which supports both Fairmont Singapore & Swissôtel The Stamford. The Infrastructure Manager establishes and manage information services to accomplish company goals and objectives, monitors trends and developments in computing, networking and multi-platform communication technologies; evaluates new operating system and/or network software, hardware, methods and techniques to improve systems/ network reliability and performance; plans and coordinates migration to new technologies.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Area Director of Information Technology

and Business Innovation, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:  
  • Ensures optimal availability of the Infrastructure in the Hotel

  • Proficient in Cloud Technology and Virtualization Technology (HyperV / VMWARE)

  • Reviews backup operations and tape management

  • Reviews system failures and recovery procedures

  • Manages Messaging systems

  • Patch Management & Antivirus

  • Administrating IT infrastructure appliances / devices

  • Infrastructure design, planning, administration, maintenance & support

  • Responsible in maintaining infrastructure stability, security, hardware equipment, system installation and troubleshooting

  • Deployment of security products and infrastructure related solutions for the Hotel

  • Providing policy inputs with regards to systems and infrastructure management

  • Conducting hardware and software evaluation

  • Investigates all infrastructure malfunctions; notifies and coordinates maintenance service with contractors; assists in problem determination by observing and noting problems, keeping and researching logs, and identifying patterns of problems; ensures that all equipment is in proper working condition

  • Investigate, recommend and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize infrastructure availability

  • Establishes and maintains documentation of the Hotels’s infrastructure architecture, operating systems, devices and communications specifications

  • Manages the Hotels’ data center

  • Ensures that all security measures and procedures are strictly enforced on all personnel

  • Sourcing of suitable vendors’ services

  • Fills in as needed in operations to cover absences, vacations and staff shortage

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum Degree in Computer Science/MIS/related discipline or equivalent

  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in the managerial level in hospitality

  • A team player and able to work closely with colleagues

  • Good problem solver with a positive work attitude, follow-up skills and able to work independently

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Personal Attributes:

  • Individual must work well under pressure and be able to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously

  • Good written and verbal communication skills for customer handling and system documentation

  • Organizes workload, sets priorities and works within deadlines

  • Analytical and good problem solver with a positive work attitude, good follow-up skills and ability to work independently

  • Experience in managing and leading a team of technical and non-technical staff to deliver the project assignments

  • Mature and positive attitude; strong sense of quality and responsibility
