Learning and Talent Management Lead, Corporate Functions

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • Set a learning and talent management agenda, across and within each of the Global Corporate Functions, that details how we will develop our talent, evolve targeted capabilities and create a culture of continuous learning 
  • Work alongside Corporate Function HR Business Leaders and HR Partners, the embedded Talent Leads and BU/Function Leaders to deploy and embed our talent management plans 
  • Contextualize and deploy relevant frameworks developed by the Talent Management Center of Excellence and Innovation (COEI)  
  • Trusted member of the Corporate Function HR Team with a deep understanding learning and talent management theory including external trends and contemporary thought leadership 
  • Key contributor to Takeda’s Global HR Function and communities of practice who elevates capabilities within and across HR 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Deliver an exceptional people experience within Corporate Functions, so everyone can fulfill their potential and enable Takeda’s mission 
  • Set a learning and talent management agenda, both within and across the Global Corporate Functions, with integrated linkages between “buy-build” strategy 
  • Develop and deploy learning curriculum’s aligned to Corporate Function capability agendas. Contextualize and embed enterprise wide learning programs. May facilitate training sessions 
  • Establish talent review methodology, facilitate select Talent Review sessions and set metrics to monitor impact.  Establish mechanisms to enable internal global talent movement for example across Global Finance or between PVPS and BUs 
  • Develop and deploy a development framework and tools applicable to all employees.  Establish targeted programs for groups such as high potentials, pivotal roles, or early career intern and Leadership Programs 
  • Oversee the deployment and embedding of cyclical Talent related processes e.g. Performance Management, Talent Reviews 
  • Set assimilation frameworks for Sr. Leaders and Pivotal roles. Establish plans and partner with Sr. Leaders on their assimilation 
  • Support executive development (coaching, assessment, mentoring, MBA) 
  • Subject matter expert in areas of learning and talent management theory/methodology who provides consultation to embedded HR and Corporate Function Leaders  
  • Engage in collaborative relationships with LOC/BU HRBLs and HR Partners, HR COEIs and other Corporate Function leaders to deliver learning and talent management solutions that make an impact 
  • Lead indirect teams of HRBLs, global HR Partners, as well as BU/Function employees to deploy frameworks and programs. Create an environment which inspires people to do their best and is aligned to the Company’s values.  Elevate HR capabilities 
  • Lead and participate in Global HR projects and Communities of Practice as required.  Apply knowledge of contemporary external best practices to co-create solutions that are relevant and make a difference 

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred 
  • 7 + year’s experience within HR focused on learning or talent management. HR Business Partner experience is a plus 
  • Experience working with Corporate Functions and/or supporting a complex global organization undergoing transformation is a plus 
  • Strategic Agility - strategic enterprise thinker who finds innovative ways to develop solutions. Exceptional ability to translate an agenda aligned to a function’s future focused objectives, deploy it and deliver results 
  • Creates Clarity – focuses on the few priorities that matter most. Track record of implementing programs that reduce complexity and measurably improve business performance 
  • Organization Effectiveness – creates environment that inspires and enables people to move the organization forward. Enables teams to work collaboratively and have challenging discussions. Gets things done 
  • Skilled Coach and Mentor – elevates the capabilities of the organization for now and the future. Fosters the professional growth of others through knowledge sharing, professional and personal coaching, personal attention and effort 
  • Industry and HR Knowledge – understands the pharmaceutical industry and enabling business functions. Curious and up to date on current and possible future HR and business trends.  Thought leader (theory and practice) as it pertains to evolving organization capabilities, systems thinking, learning and organization change  
  • Communication – ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner. Adept at storytelling and bringing others along change journey and adopting new ways of thinking 
  • Analytical Skills – ability to identify the root cause of problems/opportunities and determine possible solutions 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to travel to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips 
  • Domestic and international travel will be required, estimated 20%
