UX Manager is the driving force behind a high-impact team dedicated to
transforming how users experience SVB and differentiating our digital
capabilities from our competition. This role is responsible for
driving a significant aspect of our digital transformation strategy.

* A creative design expert who is deeply passionate about design,
product, and the end-to-end customer experience

as well as guiding diverse talent to a common goal
* Able to break down complex problems and provide human-centric
solutions through excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Able to work independently, quickly and reliably in a fast-paced,
creative environment with a keen attention to detail
Once here, you will:
* Lead, inspire, and collaborate with teams of UX Designers to
follow best practices and deliver consistently on-brand,
world-class design for apps, tools, and product features across
various platforms: Native iOS / Android, Web, and in-person
experiences.
* Guide teams to create prototypes that showcase design concepts and
interaction patterns at various levels of fidelity. Ensure that
designs are aligned with business, stakeholder, and end user
priorities
* Prioritize incoming requests from business partners and
stakeholders to help the team deliver on time and on budget
* Facilitate workshops to facilitate co-creation, alignment, and
understanding among Product Managers, Engineers, UX designers,
researchers and other cross functional stakeholders around
business objectives, needs, and constraints. Ensure that a
user-centered design approach is understood, adopted, internalized
and effectively leveraged
* Seek out analytics and leverage user research to help you make,
support and iterate on your design decisions. Guide teams and
participate in defining research goals and research plans,
conducting interviews, writing research questionnaires, producing
usability tests and compiling research results to synthesize
inputs into solutions
* Communicate complex design concepts clearly and persuasively
across different audiences at varying levels of the organization
with minimal conflict and complications between collaborative and
cross-functional personnel
* Provide guidance to UI/UX style guides to support core brand look
and feel and help ensure designs stay on-brand and on-trend.
Organize design assets and outputs to effectively contribute to
the SVB Design System.
* Provide mentoring and coaching to more junior UX team members
* Attract, retain, and develop top talent
* Use strong storytelling and presentation skills to communicate
conceptual ideas, design rationale and the specifics of
human-centered design process in all phases of the product
development lifecycle, including product ideation and definition,
UX design, and user research, detailed design and optimization
* Provide insights to the product development team and document user
goals, needs, motivations and pain points through user personas,
use cases, and experience maps. Make recommendations to improve
the user experience and create new concepts to bring those
recommendations to life.
* Contribute to the creation of a holistic UX strategy and vision,
as a core part of the design and product team to build
best-in-class products for our customers.
What you ll bring:
* A strong portfolio of work exemplifying a deep understanding of
UI/UX lifecycle to define user experiences that includes multiple
examples of leading initiatives with significant business outcomes
* Excellent communication, problem solving, and collaboration skills
* Experience delivering on projects in various stages of the product
lifecycle in a fast paced, dynamic environment
* Deep experience defining user experience, visual design,
interaction design, user research, and design principles
* A knowledge of current web technology capabilities and
cross-device considerations
* An ability to communicate respectfully when challenging
assumptions and tactful style when receiving feedback
* A confidence and natural storytelling ability to create engaging
presentations and stellar communication skills to share-out
research and analysis learnings clearly and effectively to other
product executives and leaders across the organization
* Experience working in and an understanding of an Agile development
environment
* 7+ years working experience; Experience managing a team
* A background in the financial services industry is preferred
* A Bachelor s or Master's Degree in the study of design including
one of the following: Design, Information Architecture, HCI, or
equivalent project/portfolio experience (preferred)
