NWES provides a great work life balance with no weekends or holidays work. We are looking to fill for a Full Time, 40 hours per week Medical Assistant position in our Seattle- Northgate Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Responsibilities include:

* Assist physicians and nurses in rendering professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within our ASC facility

* Learn to and process admissions, discharge, and circulating responsibilities on the job including:

* Record vitals and report findings to Perioperative Nurse
* Take ocular measurements both anatomical and functional
* Gather medical records, schedule follow-ups and receive patients on surgery day
* Accurately document and update patient record in EMR

* Review clinical charts prior to surgery as well as making pre- and post-operative phone calls, including educating patient about treatment plan
* Assist in ordering supplied and maintaining supply records
* Document and communicate actions to maintain continuity among the nursing team
* Comply with procedures, regulations, and rules in maintaining medical record
* Perform proper sterilization
* Works under side by side and with direct supervision of the Perioperative Nurse
* Functions cooperatively with physicians and staff, exhibiting strong teamwork

* 2 - 3 years of MA experience in a medical environment
* Current CPR/AED is mandatory and ACLS is preferred
* Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office products, Windows environment, and strong keyboarding skills
* Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology
* Knowledge of sterile technique as it applied to the operating room
* Basic math skills (add, subtract, etc.)
* Demonstrate strong ability to multitask
* Have flexibility to help in all areas and effectively work in a team environment
* Maintain a professional presentation, patient confidentiality and have strong interpersonal skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication for exemplary customer service
* Strong organization and attention to detail
