Part-time Freelance Admin & IT Support

Teach Your Monster

Job Description

We are looking for some part-time freelance Admin & IT support to help us in our charitable organisation which makes educational games and apps used by millions of children across the world.

The workload will vary from week to week but is likely to be from a few ad-hoc hours up to 1 day per week and will be on a contract basis.

Who are we?

We are the developers of Teach Your Monster to Read: a multiple BAFTA award-nominated educational app, one of the world’s leading literacy products played by over 1 million children every month.

We are now in the process of developing new apps and games for kids aged 4 and upwards, both in reading and in other areas of learning and development.

Teach Your Monster Games are a non-profit company, funded by the founder of Usborne Publishing.

Who we're looking for

We're on the lookout for someone to provide us with administrative support for our operations, finance, data protection & HR areas.   We're also looking for someone who can provide strong technical IT support creating and managing user accounts and permissions for the various software packages we use.

As well as superb organisational and problem-solving skills, we're looking for someone with both a collaborative style and the ability to work independently.   We're looking for someone who is inquisitive, and has a good knowledge of standard office software packages and who enjoys working with them.

This role requires someone who can demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and who pays enormous attention to detail.

How we work

We work really collaboratively, in a team of about 15 people,  with several  autonomous product teams and a very small central unit which keeps the core processes operating to support all of the product teams.   This work will primarily support the central unit.

Please note:

  • We don't work with agencies, preferring to work directly with our team.
  • We are not interested in hearing from recruiters.
  • We do not have any permanent positions at the moment.
How we work with people

We work hard at Teach Monster Games to make a great culture for the people working with us:

  • High autonomy - we find the best people and let them work in their own ways.
  • Not deadline driven and against crunch.
  • Team members mainly work remotely with occasional face to face meetings (mainly London).
  • Flexible on when we work together hours-wise and very parent-friendly

Tell us some more about yourself.    If our work looks relevant to your experience and we'd like to chat, we'll be in touch!
