Summary

The work involves performing a variety of duties and assignments to support the Prosthetics and Sensory Aids Service, specifically for the prescription eyeglass services and the home oxygen services.

Responsibilities

This position provides support assistance with regard to eyeglass and home oxygen services within VISN 20. The incumbent will handle and process applications and prescriptions for prosthetic devices and services. Duties include but are not limited to: Reviewing prescriptions and processing applications from the Prosthetic Suite GUI (Graphic User Interface) Ensuring prescriptions are complete and compliant with VA rules and regulations Verifying eligibility and entitlement for services Ensuring eyeglasses and home oxygen requests are accurately reflected in Veteran's medical records Performing reviews of billing and reconciliation against Prosthetics and Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) software system for home oxygen and eyeglass prescription and pricing accuracy Maintaining budget control point accounting procedures and ensuring adequate funding is available Reviewing and ensuring billing and account balances are accurate and balanced in accordance with requested 1358s and 2237s Ensuring patient and equipment information requests are priced and billed correctly Creating and submitting funding requests per software requirements for program budget management purposes Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position Position Description/PD#: Procurement Clerk/PD10261A Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Financial Disclosure Report: Not required

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/29/2020. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: General Experience: Applicants must have one (1) year of general experience. Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. OR Education: Two (2) years of education above high school (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED) OR Combining Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements at grade GS-4. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

Computer SkillsInterpersonal SkillsTechnical Competence Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary and is carried out in an office setting. There exists prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
