About this job
The Programmer Analyst will be part of our Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) &
Databases team and will help with the following activities:
* Conduct application installation, configuration, upgrades & maintenance
for client/server COTS applications
* Interact with end users to provide support and resolve issues as they
relate to COTS systems
* Provide support to the IT Applications team to assist with system
integration of in-house tools with COTS systems
* Design, develop, test, implement and maintain IT applications, databases,
software and tools on various technology platforms.
* Write new or modify existing code and produce technical documentation
such as user guides and related documentation.
* Analyze, define and document client requirements and recommend solutions;
conduct impact analysis studies, under supervision.
* Participate in testing and quality assurance activities.
* Provide technical advice for the design, configuration or development of
IT applications, databases, software and tools, and delivers training
sessions to technical staff and clients.
* Participate in project teams and occasionally leads short-term teams or
components of a large project. Prepare work plans, supports the
evaluation of proposals and coach new staff as required.
* Maintain knowledge of trends and developments and programming languages
in systems analysis and design, application/web design and development,
application testing and implementation techniques and practices.

Successful completion of two years or more of a post-secondary educational
program in computer science, information technology, information management or
another specialty relevant to the position.
* At least 2 years of experience working as a system administrator/analyst
with COTS systems
* Recent* experience patching, upgrading and/or installing client/server
software in an enterprise setting
* Recent* experience providing technical support and/or advice for
commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software
* Recent* experience interacting with clients to resolve incidents or
implement changes on IT systems
* Recent* experience managing IT incidents or changes using an IT Service
* Recent* experience assisting in the delivery of IT projects
* Recent* experience working with any of the following OS: Windows Server
*Recent is defined as within the last 2 years.
* Experience writing scripts for Windows and/or Linux
* Experience with application performance tuning
* Experience working with Oracle and/or MS SQL Server databases
* Experience in system administration for any of the following COTS
software: TeamMate, Adobe Experience Manager, OpenText eDocs, RedDot CMS,
IBM Cognos Analytics, SABA
* Experience working in cloud environments (Azure or AWS)
* Experience hardening Windows based systems
