The primary duties of the Quality & Records Coordinator include responsibility for training, coordinating, and assisting with the implementation of the HDR Quality Management System (QMS) within the Texas Gulf Coast Area’s Houston Offices (which includes 100+ staff in transportation engineering, planning, water/wastewater, natural & water resources, civil engineering and geotechnical, construction services, etc.).

Will report directly to the Texas Gulf Coast Area Manager, and will manage and direct activities specific to the Area’s implementation of the corporate QMS. Will serve as a liaison between the Quality Office, Information Lifecycle Governance (ILG) Leadership, QMS Internal Audit Lead Auditors, and local leadership to advance the Texas Gulf Coast Area’s Houston Practice with Quality and ILG objectives and expectations.

 

Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Quality & Records Coordinator include responsibility for training, coordinating, and assisting with the implementation of the HDR Quality Management System (QMS) within the Texas Gulf Coast Area’s Houston Offices (which includes 100+ staff in transportation engineering, planning, water/wastewater, natural & water resources, civil engineering and geotechnical, construction services, etc.).

Will report directly to the Texas Gulf Coast Area Manager, and will manage and direct activities specific to the Area’s implementation of the corporate QMS. Will serve as a liaison between the Quality Office, Information Lifecycle Governance (ILG) Leadership, QMS Internal Audit Lead Auditors, and local leadership to advance the Texas Gulf Coast Area’s Houston Practice with Quality and ILG objectives and expectations.

  • Partner with Texas Gulf Coast Area Leadership and Business Group leaders and QMS Lead to lead Texas Gulf Coast Area’s Houston Practices in successfully implementing QMS and ILG requirements and assist in managing project risk.

  • Monitor QMS and ILG effectiveness across the Houston Offices. Report program progress to Area QMS Lead, Quality Office and ILG Leadership. Provide compliance reports and recommendations to the Area Management Team.

  • Maintain Office quality program related records.

  • Serve as initial point of contact for QMS and ILG related questions or issues, and assist PMs with creation of project plans (Project Management, Quality Management, and Risk Management).

  • Work with Area Manager, Business Group Managers and Project Managers (PMs) to assist with the performance and records maintenance of quality activities (e.g., 0% Reviews, Project Reviews, and QC Reviews). Monitor quality activities within the company Quality Management Information System (QMIS). Monitor Critical Projects to ensure Risk Management Plans are being implemented and QA/QC activities are occurring. 

  • Participate in management decisions regarding QA/QC activity and Business Group performance in 0% and Project Reviews.

  • Work with 3rd party QA/QC auditors in coordination with the Area QMS Lead and Quality Office; including post audit Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Planning.

  • Conduct and manage employee training and awareness activities as it pertains to the HDR QMS Manual and ILG Program, including managing new employee QMS onboarding exposure.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience is required.

  • 5+ years experience

  • Strong organizational and communication skills are critical as is the ability to work with a wide array of system applications and staff, both internal to the Texas Gulf Coast Area (across several offices) as well as with corporate Quality Office and ILG Leadership.

  • An essential capability will be the ability to be both helpful and supportive but also to objectively develop and implement corrective actions as required.

  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

  • Local candidates are preferred, must be willing to relocate to Houston if not local.
