9B Progressive Care has 6 high acuity beds serving a diverse patient population with complex cardiac, medical, neurological and surgical needs. Patients may be admitted from any of our specialty ICU's, Emergency Department, or transferred from other nursing units when a patient's status requires a higher level of care but does not require ICU care. Many of our patients are recovering from sever critical illnesses, and require frequent monitoring and nursing interventions, complex care coordination, and intensive rehabilitation needs by physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Due to the high acuity of this population, the typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:3

9B is a Cardiac Telemetry has 13 beds that specializes in the treatment of new onset and continuum of care for congestive heart failure patients in a diverse population of adult patients. Common medical conditions addressed by our healthcare team include, but are not limited to pulmonary edema, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, endocarditis, and initial cardiac work up for chest pain and/or shortness of breath. Initial cardiac work up typically includes prepping patients for cardiac stress test and/or cardiac catheterization. Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:4

9B staff excel at caring for patients being evaluated for surgical interventions such as coronary artery bypass grafts, mitral valve replacements, transcatheter aortic valve replacements, cardiac valve clip repairs, internal cardiac defibrillator and pacemaker implantation and lead repairs, and abdominal aortic aneurysm management.

Nurses are trained on the safe and proper administration of IV cardiac medications, such as Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Lasix and are one of only two units that are skilled to care for patients receiving IV Remodulin and IV Flolan. Nurses also care for patients with chest tubes, pleurx drains, and JP drains.

Job Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse I provides professional nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies procedures, and/or protocols under the supervision of the nursing leader. Assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served.

Essential Functions

- Collects data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.

Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English in good, understandable terms. Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Finger dexterity. Critical thinking and ability to concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Education, Experience and Certifications.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider status according to American Heart Association. Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state in which you work and reside or; if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as your primary state of residency, meet the licensure requirements in your home state; or for Non-National License Compact states, current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner required in the state where the RN works.
