They are also responsible for working with the supervisor and manager to maintain technical and procedural operations in the Section; researching, developing and implementing new or improved procedures and instrumentation; performing quality control, quality improvement and regulatory compliance tasks, maintaining appropriate supply inventory and assisting with employee training and competency.

The Site Lead will serve as a primary contact for handling customer/patient complaints and concerns and will take immediate action when necessary and communicate follow up to other members of the team. Will You Be Doing?

Understands and demonstrates Children's Hospital Staff Core Competencies Provides patient care, specimen processing and laboratory analyses as it pertains to their section. Oversees daily operations of the section, such as adjusting schedules/assignments of staff to meet workflow demands in the absence of the supervisor or manager. Demonstrates knowledge of and upholds applicable laws and regulations related to position.

Maintains knowledge of techniques, procedures, and protocols, lab-wide and within lab section. Reviews and acknowledges procedures as required. Demonstrates the discipline-specific technical and computer skills required for the appropriate section of the laboratory.

Maintains a safe environment. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment as designated by lab area. Reports spills and hazardous situations immediately and acts appropriately.

Follows established guidelines for disclosure of patient information. Responsible for assisting with training for all employees during orientation period, new procedures/updates, employee competency and maintaining appropriate documentation. Demonstrates the initiative and ability to provide feedback that is useful and assists in individual improvement.

Promotes a cohesive work environment and identifies resolutions to improve moral. Demonstrates the ability to make determinations regarding course of action and alternatives by addressing problems by using resolutions and basic troubleshooting skills. Able to resolve technical, computer
