Job Description

Florida Tech is currently searching for a Warehouse/Mailroom Materials Handler for the Shipping/Receiving department. This is a full-time position.

Responsible for loading and unloading packages/materials/freight goods within a warehouse, delivery vehicles, and mailrooms, or other locations. The position is called to be physically apt and capable of moving, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 50lbs with ease. Can safely and efficiently follow company policies and guidelines for the physical movement of products/items. Must have excellent oral and written communication, effective computer and mobile device use, be highly self-driven and motivated in providing high performance, capable of following directions and working as a team player. Must have excellent customer service skills towards students, colleagues, and internal departments.

Duties:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Load and unload freight material and packages
Lift and carry or move heavy objects up-to 50lbs as needed
Able to operate heavy equipment if needed with training & certification (i.e., forklift)
Sort, process and track incoming packages/mail using software system or tracking tools
Pick-up, collect and prepare mail for delivery to USPS
Ensure packages are in mint condition until provided to end customer
Deliver inbound packages/materials/freight quickly and effectively across campus
MUST adhere to safety standards, and quality standards at all times
Must be trainable and have open communication, providing feedback on issues with deliveries to management, and concerns with incoming loads and environmental conditions
Interpret job packet instructions for processing
Assists in maintaining electronic records in organized fashion related to inventory, equipment, or other items
May assist in data entry and electronic documentation in shipping/mailing/tracking software
May assist in making shipping and mailing retail transactions using cash register, providing customer service to Students and Departments
Maintain cleanliness at all times of work environment or assisting in reorganization of warehouse and other areas of storage
Assist Shipping Manager and Assist Dir. Logistics & Ops as needed

Qualifications:
Education/Skills required:

High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred.
Minimum 0–2 years of relevant work experience required.
Valid Drivers License; will use company truck and golf carts
Must have a cheerful and positive attitude, and maintain regular work attendance
Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).
