Due to growth within the Centre of Clinical Expertise, we are now looking to recruit five Clinical Advisers across different regions, that will play a critical role in helping us to deliver our mission of supporting people with cancer. We are seeking advisers to carry out this role alongside existing commitments, with flexible contracts in the following areas:
East of England - 8hrs per week South East England - 8hrs per week London - 8hrs per week London - 4hrs per week Northern Ireland - 8hrs per week
We are looking for a Clinical Advisers to join our regional teams in London, the East of England, South East of England and Northern Ireland to provide inspiring and insightful clinical input and leadership to our regional Macmillan Teams. You will support our work that aims to address the needs of people with cancer by working with the senior leadership teams to identify, develop and maintain strategic partnerships, networks and relationships to influence priorities.
Your experience, clinical insights and decision-making skills will be instrumental in supporting the implementation of Macmillan’s strategy across the UK and ensuring that interventions meet the needs of the local workforce as well as communities in the area that you will be based.
You will work with the teams to support regional funding decisions, ensuring contemporaneous input from both a clinical and systems understanding. Through you clinical and strategic credibility you will help develop new relationships with both acute and community health and social care systems in order to ensure Macmillan can engage with the right partners to deliver our strategy for people living with cancer.
As well as working closely with the regional teams, you will be part of a UK wide Macmillan Clinical Adviser network meeting virtually regularly to share learning and support each other’s development. The regionals roles will similarly link with the National Clinical Advisers based within Macmillan’s Centre of Clinical Expertise.
About you
Your clinical experience, whether as a Physician, Nurse or Allied Health Professional, will provide credibility along with your strategic leadership and influencing skills.
You will have extensive experience in clinical practice and continue to retain an element of clinical work so that you understand the current challenges of clinical practice. Experience of working as a senior clinical and/or leader is desirable. Experience in cancer is not essential as support will be provided.
