About the role:

VIT is currently seeking to appoint Student Services and Administrative Support Officers who have previous experience of working at an Australian Education Provider in a Student Services Administration role. These positions are based at VIT’s Melbourne Campus.

As a Student Services and Administrative Support Officer, you would:

  • Provide and maintain a range of effective student services that support the well-being of the students.
  • Manage the overall workflow within the area of student and general administration so that all functions are carried out in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Handle all enquiries pro-actively and in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Effective maintenance and retention of student records and documentation.
  • Provide effectively and timely administrative support to the Student Services and Academic Teams.
  • Engage students from orientation through to graduation and beyond.
  • Ensure a positive and safe learning environment in accordance with VIT's policies procedures and regulatory bodies' standards frameworks for students.
  • Organize special events, social events and recreational activities for students.
  • Contribute to improvements and innovation in student support programs.
  • Assist management with other duties as required.

Person Specifications: 

  • At least 2 years' experience in Student Services working with international and domestic students.
  • A high level of proficiency in computer usage including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows operating systems and Student/Course Administration systems.
  • Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate across a diverse range of cultures.
  • High level administrative skills that can be applied across multiple functions.
  • Awareness of and respect for foreign cultures.
  • Committed to quality customer service and be flexible and willing to go the 'extra mile'.

Desirable

  • Sound working knowledge of post-secondary education in Australia and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience and understanding of PRISMS reporting requirements, including issuing CoEs, recording course variations, recording release etc.
